Dave was born in Billings, attended schools there and graduated from Billings Senior High in 1965.  He then went to Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, Iowa for 4 years and had additional schooling at New School for Social Research (NYC), Moorhead State (MN) and several other colleges and universities including Rocky Mountain College and Eastern Montana College in Billings.

After years of living all over the United States and engaging in numerous jobs and endeavors Dave returned to Billings for a visit and has not left since.

He joined the masons at Billings Lodge #113 and Scottish Rite in the Billings Valley.  He joined the Carbon Chapter of Royal Arch in Red Lodge.  Then he joined Al Bedoo Shrine and the Shrine Chanters.  Dave was Venerable Master of Scottish Rite in 2001 and Potentate of Al Bedoo in 2002.  He is a national Past President of Shrine Chanters of North America, Past Associate Grand Guardian and Associate Grand Bethel Guardian for Job's Daughters of Montana and was several times Grand Organist for the Masonic Grand Lodge of Montana.  He is Vice Chairman of the Board of Governors for the Shriner's Hospital for Children Spokane and active on the Montana East/West Shrine Game committee.  Dave likes to keep very busy and loves Masonic service.  Dave has been Recorder of Al Bedoo since January of 2006.
